Aquatic, physical and integrative support
Water can become a place for relaxation, reflection and inner clarity.
With Aqua Alignment, Philippe offers a personalised approach to support through water, the body and mindfulness.
This experience is aimed at people who wish to slow down, regain a sense of calm, reconnect with their bodily sensations and gain clarity on what they are going through.
It is neither a conventional diving course nor a form of medical therapy.
It is a gentle, structured and safe environment, where water serves as a medium for mindfulness, re-centring and personal integration.
A personalised approach drawing on a range of disciplines
Aqua Alignment is an approach developed by Philippe Galland, drawing on his personal and professional experience.
In particular, it is based on:
- his experience as a diving instructor;
- his coaching practice;
- his training in hypnosis;
- his Level 2 OBA practitioner certification — Oceanic Bodywork Aqua;
- her experience as a Human Design analyst;
- its commitment, through Diving Aware, to fostering a more mindful relationship with the water and marine life.
Aqua Alignment is not presented as a replica of the OBA method.
It is a personal approach, inspired and informed by various practices, centred on water, the body, clarity and integration.
Who is it for?
Aqua Alignment may be right for you if:
- you are going through a period of personal or professional transition;
- you feel the need to slow down and reconnect with yourself;
- you are experiencing a sense of tiredness, a lack of focus or a loss of direction;
- you’d like to develop a more peaceful relationship with your body;
- you are attuned to water, breath, silence and presence;
- Are you looking for a different kind of support, one that is both physical and introspective?
You don’t need to be a diver.
The session takes place in a swimming pool, in a gradual and tailored setting.
The four pillars of Aqua Alignment
1. Water
Water supports, envelops and slows down.
It enables the body to release certain tensions and enter a different state of awareness.
2. The body
The body becomes the starting point.
Sensations, breathing, gentle movement and listening to the body open up a space that is more direct than the mind alone.
3. Clarity
The time set aside for discussion and coaching helps people put their experiences into words.
The aim is not to over-analyse, but to clarify what needs to be seen, understood or adjusted.
4. Alignment
The experience aims to help the individual reconnect with what is right for them: their own pace, their needs, their limits, their choices and their natural way of moving forward.
How an individual session works
An Aqua Alignment session usually lasts between 1 hour 30 minutes and 2 hours.
it includes
- a time for welcoming participants and clarifying the purpose;
- a short coaching session;
- physical and breathing exercises;
- a gentle aquatic experience in the swimming pool;
- a return to calm;
- an induction debriefing;
- a personal avenue to explore after the session.
Each session is tailored to the individual, their relationship with water, their comfort level and how they are feeling at the time.
Available formats
One-to-one session
A session to discover this approach, slow down, let go and rediscover a sense of being present with yourself.
Format: 1½ to 2 hours
Place : swimming pool
Audience: individual
Objective: refocusing, letting go, clarification
Aqua Alignment Programme
A more comprehensive programme spread over several sessions, for those who wish to take things a step further.
Recommended format: 4 sessions
Session 1 — Clarification
Identify the intention, the current situation, the needs and the areas requiring attention.
Session 2 — Letting Go
Step into the water, listen to your body, slow down, breathe, and rediscover your inner space.
Session 3 — Understanding
Explore how you function as an individual, with the option of incorporating a Human Design reading if relevant.
Session 4 — Integrating
To combine the aquatic experience, coaching and self-awareness into a practical pathway for personal development.
Aqua Alignment at a retreat
Aqua Alignment can also be incorporated into a Diving Aware retreat.
In this context, it complements other aquatic, physical or mindful diving experiences.
Their role is to help participants to:
- to incorporate their experiences in the water;
- put their feelings into words;
- to link the physical experience to their personal lives;
- to move forward with greater clarity and presence.
Aqua Alignment can therefore form part of a wider programme centred on water, breathing, the body and reconnection.
What this approach is not
Aqua Alignment is not:
- medical treatment;
- a promise of healing;
- psychological treatment;
- a certified diving course;
- a session of aquatic hypnosis;
- a reproduction of the OBA method.
The approach is based on a framework of wellbeing, support, physical presence and personal clarity.
Safety frame
The sessions are delivered in a gradual and safe environment:
- swimming pool;
- suitable depth;
- respecting the individual’s pace;
- clear consent;
- the option to stop at any time;
- failure to meet expected performance;
- a preliminary discussion regarding any physical or medical limitations;
- tailoring the experience to suit each person’s comfort level.
The intention
Aqua Alignment invites you to experience water in a different way.
Not as a space for performance, but as a space for reconnecting with oneself.
Not to force about a change, but to create the conditions for a more nuanced understanding.
Not to add yet another method, but to rediscover a simpler, more physical, more centred presence.
